A Message To Parents...
Greek Life has gone through many changes within the past few years. The way you or your friends joined a sorority may look different now. With these changes can sometimes bring more questions and confusion. Please know that our Brenau Greek Life Community is always working to give its members a happy and memorable experience.
Panhellenic recruitment can be an emotional time for all those involved. You may hear your child say that they are in love with a chapter but not receive an invite back from them. Each chapter has different criteria that they are looking for in new members. Please know that it is not something to be taken personally. There is a place for them here in our greek life community. Encourage them to keep an open mind during the process.
If your child decides they want to join one of our Pan-Hellenic organizations, they would go through a process that is hosted by each respective chapter throughout the year. To rush a Pan-Hellenic organization, the student needs to attend info sessions and rush sessions that the chapters will have posted on flyers throughout campus and on social media.
The process of joining a sorority gives your child valuable experiences and opportunities no matter what chapter they join. The benefits of greek life are immeasurable. Greek students statistically have higher GPA’s, are more likely to graduate within 4 years, and have a higher chance of landing a job 6 months after graduating. Encourage your student to find their home and go greek at Brenau!
