A Message from the President:
Tri Delta was founded at Boston University in 1888. Tri Delta was established because our founders sought an organization that valued and prioritized a woman’s character and growth. Our philosophy of growth, along with our guiding principles of being brave, bold, and kind women, help us to embrace and empower our true selves. Our individuality is what unites us and together we are one of a kind, kind alike to all, and stronger together than we could ever be alone. The Alpha Epsilon chapter of Tri Delta was established at Brenau University in 1914. Our philanthropy is ending childhood cancer in partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our yearly philanthropy events include: DDDance-off (a Greek wide dance competition), Sincerely Yours (a letter writing campaign), and The Delta House of Pancakes (a pancake and breakfast fundraiser in our front lawn). In 2014, Tri Delta made a commitment to raise 60 million dollars in ten years for St. Jude. In early 2022, Tri Delta met our goal two years early! This year at our national Collegiate Leadership Conference, Alpha Epsilon was awarded the runner-up for Excellence in Philanthropy award. Alpha Epsilon is passionate about doing our part to serve the patients and families of St. Jude by raising money and awareness for this amazing organization. Our chapter is devoted to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Belonging. We firmly believe that by creating a space that is welcoming and accepting to all walks of life, we can create an environment in which everyone feels like they can be their true selves. We have an annual Anti-Racism meeting in which we have an open, safe space to discuss and address any concerns or topics we may have questions about. By opening these conversations, we can defeat our ignorance and become informed allies to any injustice we see. While our Executive team was at our national Collegiate Leadership Conference, the Alpha Epsilon chapter was awarded the inaugural Diane Peterson Award for Excellence in DEIAB. This award, named in honor of the first initiated African-American Tri Delta woman, recognizes a chapter's efforts for promoting and practicing DEIAB efforts. We are exceedingly honored to be the first chapter to receive this award. As much as we love our beautiful, historic Delta Shelta, that’s not the only place you’ll see us around campus! Our sisters are involved in The Honors Program, Athletics, Work-study, Student Government Association, Resident Assistants, Gainesville Theatre Alliance, The Writing Center, The Elixir, Peer Mentors, Golden Stars, Mediation Team, K-Lovers, Brenau University Garden Society, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Psi Omega, the Order of Omega, Phi Kappa Phi, Rho Lambda, Vocal Chamber Ensemble, Mu Phi Epsilon, Phi Kappa Phi, Gamma Sigma Alpha, Mu Sigma Chi and Delta Eta Pi. We recognize the importance of a well-rounded college experience and we encourage sisters to take on leadership opportunities throughout the Brenau community as well as to maintain high academic standards in the classroom. By being involved outside of our sisterhood, we can take those outside experiences and create an even better sisterhood. Delta Delta Delta wishes you the best year at Brenau University and we are so excited to meet you! Delta Love and Mine, Paris Aguilar, Collegiate Chapter President- Alpha Epsilon Chapter |
